I took a quick jaunt to LA this week for a wee bit of business and to share a little cheer with my Southern California girls….

In Venice Beach, the bridge on Linnie Canal was lit up with this magical display that reminded me of what the holidays are really about: the love and best wishes that we have for the special people in each of our lives.

Who isn’t moved by the story of the Taj Mahal…..

An architectural masterpiece built over a span of 22 years to honor one woman’s memory by her grieving husband. It is no wonder that The Taj is known as the symbol of eternal love….truly so beautiful. The photo above of the iconic structure against a backdrop of the most stunning pink and purple skyline inspired my upcoming spring collection.

Here is a sneak peak of what is to come in Spring 2011…..deep purple amethyst and brilliant fuschia quartz.

We’ve just returned from a leisurely week roaming the beaches in Mexico’s Yucatan Penninsula (near Tulum) where we went in search of a little respite and rustic beauty.

Robbie and I wandered through the nearby Mayan ruins in Tulum, climbed the pyramid of Coba, and searched for shells and bits of coral that had washed up on the soft sandy beaches to arrange as our dinner centerpiece every night. We cooked simple feasts and swam in the crystal clear waters (the temperature of your most soothing bath) and lounged in our palm tree shaded hammocks reading volume after volume….such a wonderful simple indulgence to not have to put down your book!

We waited for the arrival of the sea turtles, who are currently laying their eggs along the shores of where we were staying but we must have just missed them. We witnessed their magic a couple of years ago on another Tulum adventure and what an extraordinary sight it was…..it will keep us returning to this spot for many years to come.

I brought back a handful of beach treasures that I am currently playing with for inspiration……they may make an appearance in my Spring 2011 collection… so stay tuned!

It is a beautiful and sunny day in New York City, and Robbie and I are wrapping up our whirlwind trip…

Last week I ran around with our publicists showing our new jewelry and candle collections and talking about our new store, Atelier at Robindira Unsworth, to all the big fashion publications….it is always such a good feeling to share what is new, what we are proud of, and what we’ve been working so hard to bring to market.

I  am in LA right now for Spring Market and I started my day today with a misty walk along Venice Beach…

Venice is such a magical spot.  I always stay with one of my closest girlfriends when I come down south and I feel so lucky to be in such a beautiful spot right on the Venice Canals.  It really inspires me.

This has been a wonderfully exciting week for us as we just found out that the November issue of ELLE hit the newsstands.
