My Very Own Guitar

2010 is here and I am ready for a new challenge….

Exploring music has been on the top of my mind for the last couple of years, and specifically I have been interested in learning to play the guitar. I am not musically inclined by any means, save for a brief stint on the violin in the fourth grade and a rousing version of Twinkle Twinkle.

I am curious though and I like to explore and learn new things.

At the end of last year I was gifted a most beautiful cognac and chocolate brown guitar with delicate mother of pearl inlay. Of course I am most concerned with the visuals of the guitar…I can’t help it!

It is really a looker and according to my guitar teacher Jason Bodlovich, it sounds good too!

I had my first lesson with the very talented Jason last week and what can I say I am smitten with my New Guitar.

It is not going to be easy but I can already see that a whole new world is about to open up to me.

Forever Young

This is a tribute to my amazing father, Rob Nilsson, who turned 70 this week…

If you knew my dad you would shake your head in disbelief that he could possibly be 70, because he is the most youthful, vital, passionately creative and productive artist that could ever be.

I know you are probably thinking that I am biased….. but my father has made over 30 feature films in the last 30 years, has won awards at Cannes and Sundance, and has been honored by numerous film festivals around the world for his ground breaking films—all while continuing to paint, write poetry, screenplays, and even play music from time to time.
