Chasing My Shadow
A bright and chilly morning in Manhattan…..sipping my coffee, walking along the Hudson…a quick stop to chase my shadow and off to the show I go.

A spirit always surging with learning ever there, a school with moving purpose and freedom in the air, wind blown fields of green grass a changing sea of blue, a school that’s ever growing with memories old and new….
I can’t believe I still remember all the words for my grade school song. The other day I ran into one of the school busses that I rode for nine years when I attended Marin Country Day School and I had to stop and take a photo….such beautiful memories of friendships that have lasted a lifetime, of singing song after song, flying kites, freedom, innocence and so many games of capture the flag. I feel lucky to have experienced such a special place with truly passionate teachers who sparked my curiosity and creativity….those experiences have served me well.

One of the things I really enjoy about living in a smaller town is the unusual regional traditions that become part of your own family traditions.
This year India is two and at an age to appreciate the magic and wonder of Santa Claus so this weekend we gathered with children of all ages down at the Petaluma River to celebrate Santa and Mrs Claus and their seasonal arrival on the Petaluma tug boat.
India was in awe of the energy and excitement and waited patiently for her turn to greet Santa ….by the time Santa made his way through the crowd to us she was speechless…..and as soon as we bid Santa adieu she could not stop talking about him!
How fabulous that India will forever associate Santa with a tug boat and not a sleigh….I love that we are now creating traditions that India will call her own.

We have just returned from a beautiful holiday in Puerto Vallarta with dear friends….it was a week of balmy days, beach strolls, discoveries and treasures found unexpectedly under starry nights…here are a few of my favorite snaps.

Our Believe pendants are traveling to NY right now to be apart of an important fundraiser for this incredibly important mission.
Here are photos of Melissa and Natasha putting the finishing touches on these special pieces for Javier and all of the children who are living with this disease.
