Just feeling a bit contemplative this morning as I begin my day….

There is something about autumn that makes me a little thoughtful.  Maybe it is the realization that the warm sunny days are nearing a close and the gorgeous vines and trees in our garden will be losing their luscious leaves in the coming months.  I noticed that the light was changing when Robbie and I took a day off this past week to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary.  We drove through the rolling hills of grape vines and headed over to St Helena to visit our friends at Neyers Vineyard.  They treated us to scrumptious chardonnay and freshly baked cookies…so lovely are Barbara and Phoebe, it is crush time so they are busy as can be! Phoebe showed us how 50,000 pounds of grapes had arrived that morning and made their way through the crushing machines–and we even saw the chardonnay juice fermenting.

We went into downtown St Helena afterwards and popped in to see one of our favorite stores Pearl….so chic.  I can never go in without finding one amazing piece that I can’t possibly go home without.  Afterwards we treated ourselves to a cozy dinner at The Martini House and toasted the last ten years of marriage.  So many shared  triumphs and moments of growth we have experienced together.  The passage of time is truly amazing.

As we reminisced over our past experiences we began the process of dreaming about the next ten years…..

I can hardly wait to see what is to come and what we will create.
