A View of Greece

After spending a week in the Bodrum penninsula in Turkey, we took a boat over to the Greek island of Kos.  These were the final days of our trip and it was such a treat to fill our days with varying degrees of lounging coupled with a bit of history.  Kos is famous for being the home of Hippocrates and we had the opportunity to visit the timeworn tree that Hippocrates used to instruct his students under.

Here is a sampling of my favorite snapshots.

The most magical bougainvillea I have ever seen…

A Grecian Goat carefully eyeing me while searching for a little respite from the sun.

The view from our room in Kos….stunning cerulean blue water,  the most enchanting view.

Robbie and I enjoying chai in a local cafe…a daily tradition on our trip.

The elaborate interior of a Grecian church the size of a dollhouse….such gorgeous colors and textures together!

To Robbie’s chagrin we had to stop and take pictures whenever and I mean whenever we saw Queen Annes Lace because I am obsessed with it’s delicate beauty.  Here is one of MANY shots taken on the trip.  This picture was taken in an ancient castle on the island of Kos.

And then it was back to Istanbul for one more night and back to California.  It was a perfect respite and I was happy to come home….I  missed our dogs, Rita and Bourbon and our little house and garden.   It is always wonderful to put yourself out into the world to experience new things and equally satisfying to return to the familiar with a renewed vision and better understanding under your belt.
