They say the apple doesn’t fall from the tree and that is the truth when it comes to my inheritance of the leather jacket gene from my dad.

My dad is infamous for his steadfast love of his motorcycle jacket. He takes it to another level by religiously donning his leather jacket even in the tropics!


Which brings me to my love for the leather jacket and the most covetable leather jacket out there in my eyes. I remember the day well when I saw my first Blur jacket. I was visiting one of my favorite boutiques, Pearl Wonderful Clothing, and couldn’t take my eyes off the most amazing buttery soft caramel colored leather jacket I had ever seen. The jacket fit like a second skin and had the most fabulous cutout design appliquéd on the back.

It was BEYOND hip. This jacket would never go out of style and could be passed down to future generations…. (or so my rationalization went). I had no business buying a leather jacket on that day but then I remembered that my birthday was five months away and it all fell into place.

I know you are thinking, that’s great that she inherited the leather jacket gene but she is sorely missing the logic gene. But trust me you wouldn’t say that if you saw my collection of Blur jackets.
