Spring is around the corner…
This morning I was struck with the realization that Spring is right around the corner…and as I left my house to go on my morning run with Bourbon, my Boykin Spaniel, I caught a glimpse of white out of the corner of my eye and realized that our wild overgrown Hawthorne was showing it’s first blossoms.
Each year this is the first sign of the new growing season in my garden–and this means that within a few weeks our old Wisteria vine will drop pods that will quickly turn into gorgeously fragrant lavender blooms (the absolute highlight of my year!).  Our ancient wisteria has had great influence on me and in fact one of our signature designs is a direct nod to the beauty and mystery of its tangled vines. Each year as the weather gets warmer my husband and I sit under the canopy of wisteria and listen to the cacophony of bees and dream.
The vines of our ancient wisteria….

And the jewelry it inspired….

As I continued on my morning run I felt a rush. Spring is really my favorite season because it represents change and possibility. It is the time of year when I make my resolutions and decisions and actually act upon them as opposed to the obligatory New Years promises.   When I see a neighborhood Magnolia tree full of plum colored blossoms and Quince with it’s branches bursting with vibrant coral pinks I just feel inspired…..to create, to get out into the world and explore.Â
What season brings out the inspiration in you?

Summer is my favorite season..I live in Colorado and Spring is runoff season–so it is muddy and wet! In the summer the mountains come alive…it inspires me.
